I am so impressed with flickr! It is so much better then the google way of looking for pictures. I see myself using this program often, not only for writing ideas, but for my social studies/science lessons as well. It is a great tool to use for ELA students, but I wish I could also have the pictures in the slide show labeled.

I came here today knowing there were some differences between the learning of boys and girls. I now realize the importance of differentiation in writing. I will confer with my teammates and hopefully put some changes in my writers workshop.

I realized today that I need to start small- I can't incorporate everything I learned today, but I think starting with one project when I return to the classroom this week is good start.

I am very excited to use Flickr! I have found it very difficult in the past to find appropriate pictures for my lessons. I think this site will be very helpful and will hopefully make some of my lessons more creative.

I am so excited about being able to make picture files for my students to use with writing. Also to use the video clips! I found some great ones to go with our "Matter" science unit we are doing right now.

I will set up sequencing lessons using Inspiration. I love having familiar books on the CD to sequence into beginning, middle and end for my kindergartners. Great visuals!

I am excited to try new ways to improve my students' writing through the use of slideshows and movies. Hopefully, I will be able to improve the writing of the students, the boys who are not excited, throough the use of new methods taught in class.

I am so excited to try some of this new technology in the classroom. I was surprised how easy it was to learn how to make a slideshow and how to use the Wiki page. I hope my students benefit from the knowledge I learned today.

We learned some great ideas today! We can't underestimate the power of visual imagery. I thought it was interesting to think about boys tending to start school 1.5 years behind girls in fine motor skills and language.

AHA: I will walk away from this remembering that my students "can do more than I think!" I'm going to try to take more risks with the kids using technology as a learning tool, not just an "add-on."
SUGGESTION: Have an earlier follow-up on adding to the WIKI; collaborative take aways for slide shows that are made,
Enjoyed the class and working to motivate my writers!

I was able to use Flickr to creat a slideshow for a writing lesson I put together. The slideshow was an introduction to what they were going to be doing. It helped them to think about what they wanted to write about, and for some of my other students if helped to give they some information. I can say that my students were very excited about writing after they had seen the slideshow. It also sparked a great discussion right before they started writing.

This was a great review for Flicker since we are currently doing animal research. I made up some slide trays for our current reseach. I also liked making the book in iphoto. I wish I had more time to do this great work. Thank you for another great day.

My biggest "aha!" moment today was when we did the podcast. It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I'm still not sure how I'll manage it, but I'd like my kids to record a reading of a book for parent-teacher conferences.
My wish? I would like to know more about resources to support English-language learners with technology.

It is so exciting learning how to post a blog. I can't wait to go and experiment with this with the children in my class and my goal is to work on fluency with the children. I wish that all children will be able to use the podcast as a grEAT TOOL.
